Steering column noise
Anyone else's steering wheel/column making a ratcheting noise when turning the steering wheel ?
My car has been making this grinding/ratcheting noise when turning to the left. Took it to sealer 3 times: first 2x they lubricated some parts they thought were rubbing, 3rd time they were going to replace the column but instead put a piece of felt tape in between the pieces they thought were causing the pressure. Noise went away but came back. They want to take off the panel pieces and check again. Not sure if this is acceptable or not. I'd rather them not keep taking the panel pieces apart too much. Thoughts? |
