is there a power steering resevoir?

just wonderin if there is any way to check fluids or ?
my 2003 z4 has is starting to creak when i turn either going really slow or stopped...like when you are low on fluid.

You've got electric power assisted steering. There have been issues in hot weather with sticking and failing altogether

i dont think so...my car has been in temps above 44 degrees and its fine. then again, it is built to survive these conditions (GCC spec)

You don't think so on which, the fact that there have been failures or sticking on hot days or that it's electric assist?

I've read about it in other forums happening in the UK and US. It doesn't happen all of the time, but it can and does happen.

Mine makes a kind of whirring noise sometimes when I turn the wheel at low speed such as backing into parking spaces.
