My OEM tool kit is missing the screwdriver and lug wrench
Got a flat this morning, and noticed the tool kit on the tray above the battery is missing the screwdriver and lug nut wrench? Were those included with the car?
All I see is the tow hook. Thanks in advance! |

The cars do not come with those because M's have a fix-a-flat kit with a pump and lifetime free towing. Unless something has changed that I am not aware of.

I just removed the wheel myself and drove it to my local tire shop for a patch. No way am I going to get the car towed for something so minor. |

The first occasion was the valve stem which could not be fixed with the fix-a-flat (and that was the last time I will ever try to use that stuff unless I absolutely have to). BMW towed it to a discount tire per my request Second time was an oil pressure accumulator sprung a leak and I didn't want to drive it like that. Not even tire related and was still drive-able! BWW sent a truck to tow my car from my house all the way to the dealership for repair. I paid for the repairs in both cases but never got charged for towing. The car doesn't come with a spare and some tire issues can not be fixed (see first example). Pretty sure BMW doesn't want to leave an M owner stranded and regretting the decision for buying an M car.

There is an empty spot for the 3rd item in the toolbox (bottom right corner), anyone know what it's for? Something like a wheel lock key?

I have the screw driver and tow hook, as have the rest of my BMWs.
I just looked closer though, and it appears that the screw driver hole in the plastic is also a wrench for certain sized lugs... you can put the screw driver in the hole in the side of it... interesting. |
