Countdown to 1200 mile service
Car currently has about 800 miles on it.
So yesterday, I noticed in i-Drive my little cellphone antenna symbol on the display flashing rapidly. I thought that was odd ... as this normally means a call is in progress. I checked my phone which was connected to the car via bluetooth and no random call was in place .... Later ... I was fidling around with the i-drive settings and noticed under the auto service request setting that the car had transmitted data back to my BMW center a hour or so ago ... so indeed BMW Teleservice does actually work as advertised :-) |

I got a call from the service dept. at my dealer about the 1st service. My car obviously called them. Pretty cool, if perhaps a bit "big brother".

Mine too, but the notification came with 600 miles on the odo, a bit premature. I called my Service Department and they said to wait until 1200 miles, or when the car's "odometer countdown" tells me to.
