Christmas In August! Adaptive headlights on my 2018 M3 without ZEC!

Christmas has come early my friends Perhaps this is a gift from BMW for it being my third F8X

My 2018 M3 which was ordered Without exec. pack. shows on the complete vehicle options build sheet the following 2 goodies which I confirmed with the dealer, and BMW Genius Hotline :

-552 Icon Adaptive FULL LED Headlights (NC)
-496 Heated Rear Seats (NC)

My 2017 M3 had heated rear seats which I believe were also included in the exec. pack at the time...IIRC?

My Guess is that BMW may be having a supplier constraint and is including the Icon Lights .... Anyone else showing this on their complete vehicle options/build list?

Your memory is correct that heated rear seats were in the past (and continue to be, for that matter) officially available only as part of the Executive package, yet have appeared on many builds without that package spec'd.

Getting the new adaptive lights for free is a new twist though. That's quite the bonus.

I should note the some of the early g20 5's had the icons included at NC ...it's on another forum.

the Executive Package also includes:

248 Heated Steering Wheel
508 Park Distance Control
5AC Automatic high beams
5DL Side and Top View Cameras
5DP Parking Assistant
610 Head-up Display

Maybe he did get lucky and get 496 and 552 without having to do order the Exec package. If so that is sweet. My VIR only has 552 and not 496.

I wonder if their adaptive nature is actually on or whether getting the Exec package turns the adaptive nature on.

I checked my build sheet as well, mine shows 496 and 552. I ordered very few options and don't have the exec pkg.

My build sheet also shows a 8S4 code variable light decoding and 5AP code anti dazzle decoding.

Yeah I think that deletes the new angel eyes and the adaptive nature. Bummer, that would have been awesome if we got those angel eyes. This guy did not get Exec on his US Spec M3 and he did not get the new angel eyes. http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...rmany+military

Most certainly will not get adaptive feature as the cameras are need from the exec. pack for that.

That car was delivered in Germany, so perhaps its something newly implemented for the us market?

Unfortunately, maybe christmas did not come early. All M3s now have LEDs as standard. But the cool features (such as the angel eyes) of the icon LED are taken out when you do not get Exec pkg.

Is yours an M4 if so it will not have 496

That doesn't sound right. Seems like you may be misunderstanding..? He's talking about the Adaptive lighting features, not Adaptive Cruise control.

I would say that it is virtually guaranteed that if a car has 552 then it has all of the features that option includes (which, incidentally, in the US is not their full capabilities, due to regulatory compliance).

The heated seats are a plus. Although now I wonder if they are included if you get leather?

That's not correct.

The standard LED light is not the same hardware as the adaptive light. This topic covers the optional adaptive light, code 552, which is absolutely not a standard feature. Please go read up more.

The way it's coded is odd on the build sheet - shows 552, and then 5AP and 8SF decoding?
