Silverstone Metallic question

I'm confused. If you do a Google search on Silverstone Metallic M4's, you see a color that is clearly silver-based with a slight blue over-spray, giving the car a blueish tint on the silver....not too deep, but there in the right light.
The other day at the dealer I saw a new Silverstone Metallic M4 that looked VERY silver....no blueish tint.
What is the current 2018 Silverstone Metallic color? Am I nuts? Maybe seeing it in the wrong light? The BMW website "build your own" shows the color with the blueish tint.
If someone could help me out here I would appreciate it. I'm obviously new here!
Thanks, Desert Dog

When did you see the car? What were the conditions like? The color can change quite a bit from a "pure" silver to the blueish color you mention depending on the lighting.

Smile Silverstone II - Quite Possibly the Best Color...Ever

OP, the Silverstone is indeed a shifting sort of color. In person I found it to be the best color choice for me. I love the way it shifts with the surrounding light. When compared to other silver cars, it looks like no other and quite unique.

All of us interested in or having a ///M are certainly touched in the head, some call it nuts, I liken it to just being human and having a penchant for good machinery.

SS reminds me of the silver paint on my 2006 V70R. Almost pure silver in bright sunlight and more of a bluish hint in the shade.

Here's my pic from the Welt, moonstone vs silverstone; "dusk" type shading:

Focus is on the silverstone car

Same exact pic, just shifting focus to moonstone (for dorks that care)

thank you...

Many thanks to all who answered my questions and also for the photos! SS is an outstanding color, and your comments have helped me decide that I made the right choice when I picked it.
I guess I saw the M4 with SS in bright sunlight, and although I "thought" I saw some blueish tint, I wasn't sure.
Thanks again, Desert Dog

Silverstone all the way!!! Technically speaking its Silverstone II. Not as blue is Silverstone I.
Definitely the most underrated color option. My favorite color thus far. If you want to see my build thread on my SS2 M4, i have link on my signature below.
Im also on Instagram where I have tons of photos: @ste4lthedf82

The vehicle licensing agency log book in the UK actually lists the colour as blue on the documentation.

A lovely colour that changes hue as has been said depending on the light and the surrounding area/back ground colours.

Silverstone is a highly reflective silver that will vary with the environment it is in. At night, under artificial light, it will be a pure silver. Under a blue sky, it will take a blueish tint (see my old SS E92 in my avatar pic). In a forest, it will take a greenish tint. At dawn or dusk, it will have golden reflections (see pic in my signature, almost looks like GrussGott 's Moonstone. I really like how dynamic it is.

I'd also say it's the best colour for an M4 really shows off the lines in a way the darker colours don't.

Agreed, Silverstone definitely shifts based on lighting...sometimes it looks silver and at other times it has a strong blue tint. It's most apparent how unique this color is when sitting next to another silver car; then the blueish tint really comes out.

Personally, I love the color and have no regrets. It seems to have a deep shine that really accentuates the M3's flared fenders.

Posted a pic above... but here's another pics of mine at dusk... color definitely changes depending on light conditions. Mine has Xpel Stealth satin clear bra. Don't mine the freshly painted hood in this pic (before i had a chance to Xpel Stealth it.)
