Lag in 3rd gear (manual)

I'm used to atmospheric engine and also supercharged engine. I forgot long time ago about lag, of turbocharged engine.

It's my first M3, and I am little bit disappointed about the lag, especially when I shift from 2nd to 3rd, in SPORT+ mode.

My F80 has the Competition package and is 6 speeds manual.

Somebody offers me the Burger Motorsport Stage 1 (plug and play). Is it a good product ? Can this tune make the lag less present ?

Does it worth the money ? Is it compatible with the 444 hp Competition package ?

Thanks for your precious answers !

Especially in Sport+, eh? Are you sure it is lag and not the stability control system cutting throttle?

Have you tried it (in a safe setting) with DSC disabled to verify you see the same behavior?

Hold down the DSC/MDM button for about 5 seconds to deactivate.

True. But...Not everyone is as talented as they think they are. Turning off the DSC is a good way to find out where you fit on the spectrum from inept to Senna-like.

Thanks for your answers folks ! On my 2011 GT500, Ford has done a DSC that even in full mode, will let the rear end be happy.....especially with 510 lbs/ft of torque !

I was expecting the same with the F80....

My point is that it is not an absolute. Some folks know how to drive and won't "fly off the road" with DSC off. But I agree, just based on the comments on this forum, there are many inapt drivers.

I drive with DSC off 100% of the time with rear tires that have 3/32 left and I don't fly off the road. I'm sideways sometimes though

I think I get what you're saying. I have a 17 zcp, jb4, dp and although it did wake the car up a lot, I do feel the lag occasionally.

This happens mostly during a third gear roll. Second gear has no traction even with 90% tread.

The next time you do a pull, try starting at a lower rpm and very gradually give boost before you go full throttle. See if this works out.

Yea I agree. To lose control and fly off the road, you have to be flooring at an uneven surface or mashing the pedal off the line. If you're losing traction unintentionally, then yea there are many inadpt drivers lol
