Uh oh, did I accidentally get someone else's Sakhir Orange stitching?

So I noticed something odd in my car. All my contrast stitching is white except for the small pad next to cup holder.

When I picked up the car I thought it was the reflection from the red interior lighting but upon further inspection it's actually red. If this indeed isn't usual then I think it's kinda cool and makes my car a little unique. I just hope there isn't some poor soul out there who ordered individual contrast stitching and got white stitching instead for this piece

Whoever didn't get the contrast stitching kneepad will probably request a new car because their experience was ruined.

Cars with Sakhir orange interior get Sakhir orange contrast stitching on all black leather areas, including the knee pad, so it is not necessarily from an Individual order.

This reminds me of an M3 at a local dealer that had a full leather door panel on the left side, and a standard panel on the right.

Sometimes the factory makes an oopsie.

To me, that is a huge quality control mistake. I would definitely report it back to BMW. That should never happen.

The door handles black leather in your car are stitched in Sakhir, correct?

No, the rest of the interior is right. It's just this piece that's wrong. My exterior is SSII and I got extended black Merino leather.

Seriously though, I would think you can just order the part. Maybe they can give it to you for free since they made a mistake. You would think they would catch these things with a $70k+ car.

Too late. I already pushed the POS over a cliff.

The piece doesn't actually bother me at all. It's barely noticeable. Honestly even my CA didn't notice it and thought it was the reflection from the red interior lighting. I may notify BMW just to let them know of the mistake, but I don't think I will try to get it replaced. Depending on how the piece gets replaced, I'd be more worried about them messing up my center console and adding creaking/rattling.

call BMWNA customer relationship. complain how this is giving you an anxiety attack and OCD brake down. Ask for a compensation, perhaps M Driving School or 1 month payment lol.
