05 3.0i vs 06 3.0i

My 05 2.5i lease is up next month and I need a new car.

Any thoughts about 05 3.0i vs 06 3.0i.

Not concerned about the facelift, but about the engine.

The 05 (M54) makes 225/214 while the 06 (N52) makes 215/185?

Have you driven both cars? Does the 06 handle better but have less grunt b/c of the lighter engine? How about mileage?

not worth the price difference for me. everybody who got the massive incentives is not selling their car yet. they want so much I might as well step up to a M roadster.

the 3.0i is a happy compromise for me

I've driven both and the 2005 3.0i feels a touch faster than the 2006 3.0i. If you're looking for power, look for the 3.0si.

If I were you I'd stay with the 2.5L you currently have since you know the history of it. Maybe get a couple mods so it seems like a new car to you, i dunno.

I have an '05 3.0 and it's definitely not the quickest out there, but I haven't driven a 2.5L or an '06 3.0 either.

renew your lease,
its not worth taking over a used car that you don't know the history off.

either that or get yourself a new M roadster while you still can.

this car wasnt new when I got it, i did a lease assumption when it was 20 months and 12K miles. its now 29 months and 22K miles.

If I can't get a very good price on this car (i'm talking manehim wholeslae + 1K) then its going back and I'll wait until its colder to either pick up a 06+ or a new 08 if they have the crazy incentives again.
