Did the incentives make you buy your z4?

I met this fellow z4 owner over the weekend. We were just casually talking about our cars. It got my attention when he said if not for the incentives, he'd be driving something else.
I also got an incentive on my 07, but it wasn't too big. barely 7k off (and the car had 70 miles when I signed the papers.. sigh.. )
Anyways, it sure helped me make up my decision. Had it not been for the incentive, I'd be probably in a used e46 m3.

Did the incentives make you get the car or would you have gotten it regardless? And just curious how many people bought it new or used?
It looks like for me, it's like every other car I get is new.

Cayman S

I was leaning very heavily toward a Porsche Cayman S until BMW NA came out with their $7500 marketing support on the 2007 Zed 4 M Coupe. That was the deal clincher for me; pay $70K for the Cayman S or $46K for the Zed 4 M Coupe. That was a no brainer for me having been driving a Zed 3 M Coupe for three years.

Nope, I was already looking into moving from my roadster to an M when the incentives started. My plans did change somewhat, though - originally I was going to buy a CPO E46 M3 Coupe for a daily driver, then get a Z4 M Roadster.

no mine's a 2003 but did get about 6000 off back then(november may have helped)...apparently my cousin passed up a deal of 10k off on a 3.0 during the same time period!

The incentives are the reason I don't have one yet. I'll buy a new one this year if the incentives get good enough. If not, I'll buy a used one that has taken the depreciation hit.

Incentives definitely did it for me. I typically buy used and was looking at Caymans and STIs as well as Z4 coupes. With the incentives the price of a new Z4 was about the same as a year old used STI, less than the price of a year old Z4, and waaay less than a used Cayman. Hard to argue with $32K brand new.

Same for me. I paid 46K for an '07 M Coupe in late November. I was waiting for a loaded 1 series this spring but for 1K more I got the "BEAST".

Guess one of the dissadvantages of having one of the first ///M roadsters is that there were no incentives. But I did negotiate what I thought was a good price at the time 3500 off sticker.

Hard to say, I was looking at it vs other 60k cars and when I found out I could get such a good deal it made it an easier buying decision. The price just added to the list of things I loved about this car. Without the price...hmm I might be in a C63

Yes--I ended up getting about $5.5k off sticker 2 weeks ago on my '08 si roadster. I thought really hard about waiting till fall for the fabled $7.5 trunk money, but I wanted this car so bad that I figured I'd take the sure thing-combo of incentive & inflated residual. Not a bad deal, and I get to drive it all summer. Now, if there are great incentives this fall I'll be kicking myself!

I regret buying my Z when I did. About a month or so later, they started offering really good incentives.

Kinda. I really wanted an M car, and was originally going to get an M3. Since production had stopped, I looked at other cars, and then came back to find the M Coupe. Got it tax free and got to drive it in Germany for three weeks. Best three weeks ever

The incentives were not the only reason but they definitely got me off the fence. I had always admired my friend's M Coupe and when the incentives came out it was over for me It offered the best of my two cars at the time so I was able to consolidate cars at the same time.....

I know a handful of people who got their Z4's because of the incentives last year. It was such a great deal then. I don't think this year's incentives are as agressive as last year's. I think BMW learned their lesson and therefore cut down production on Z4's this year.

I should have been more aggressive on the incentives I received.
They offered 5k, and I pushed them to 7k and they accepted and I thought it was a good deal (which is on a BMW). But later I found out that even 12k off was possible for some people. And yes, I got mine in Oct of last year, 10/30 to be exact.. =(
Anyways, loving my car no doubt, just that greed of saving a few more grand just lingers.. lol
