Introduction
Hi everyone. New to the forum, but a long time Z owner.
I have recently sold my 1999 Z3 COupe, and after a brief trist the the 1 series, I am seriously considering a Z4. My problem comes when choosing which one! I really love the looks of the coupe, but I also like the idea of a convertible. Do I get a 3.0si or an M? Do I wait for the next generation and just get the TT engine with the folding hardtop and hope it is the best of all worlds? Anyway, just introducing myself. Let me know what you guys think. |

We don't know for sure that the TT is going to be in the next Zed. It depends on what you like though. I needed good MPG so I got a 3.0si and the Coupe is damn sexy so I had to get that. If you want raw power then get an M.
If you wait till the next body style it is going to be a hardtop convertible like the Mercedes, some like that some don't. The next M version probably won't be released for a while so if you are looking for an M I'd get one soon (production is stopping before year end, probably pretty soon) p.s. WELCOME!

We also don't know if the next gen Z4 is gonna be hot and spicey like my M Coupe
From the spy shots...it might look boatish...

If all you want is raw power, buy a Corvette. If you want a sports car that has good looks, the Z4 is not necessarly it. If you want a great driving experience buy a Porsche. If you want a combination of these things that don't cost a fortune, get the Z. In the real world it's not likely that any one that has a 200mph car ever tops it out. Irreguardless of what you read here about out hotrods, very few owners have ever see the 155 - 165 mph top end that these cars will do. Few may have seen it once. If you are buying the car to use on the track, then it is a whole new story, go for broke.

That is only because you have a roadster. The coupes are one of the sexiest cars on the market under 200K!
