Smile Video: SSR Performance Dual Cone Air Intakes Clip

What's up guys?

Wanted to share a short clip of the SSR Performance Dual Cone Air Intakes!

Super loud!! Day to night change!

Shah Siddiki and the SSR team have been amazing people to deal with.

Top of the line quality and customer service. The pricing is very competitive; however, quality is NOT sacrificed in any aspect. You will be impressed!

The video does not do justice! The sound is addicting! #neckbreaking

I wonder how it compares to my MSR, I've only heard SSR from the outside.

It sounds great for high performance driving, just wondering if the inside shot was taken with windows open? If not it may be loud and tiring on the long drives?

Any issues with stuttering or rough idle?

Not with SSR ones, no CEL or any issues.

The only CEL I had while having the SSR Perfomance intakes was due to a broken OEM charge pipe. Replaced with SSR chargepipes, now its perfect.

VRSF intakes did throw a couple CEL.

Windows were all the way up.

For long drives, they do not bother at all.

The induction noise increases after 3500 RPMS above 50% or higher throttle. They'll make you feel like driving a supra if you boost up and release the throttle. Sound is just incredible.

Peaceful driving would even make you forget you got intakes.

They stay cool all the time.

I pop the hood open at cool down laps.

I've noticed the cooling system of the S55 is insane. You can touch the intakes, charge pipes and not even feel the temperature change.

Do your parked revs sound like this?

I'm trying to find out how to get mine to spool like the video.

My 6 speed manual makes a louder induction noise while in neutral than a DCT in park (both SSR intakes). The car on the video might be manual or tuned.

I have not researched why the manual vehicle produces such effect.

Interesting, you're probably right as mine is DCT. Induction noise is very minimal.

Fun fact, my brothers 18 DCT ZCP induction noise changes from economy to sport on neutral. Not as loud as 6sp

Yeah, induction at high RPMS is more pronounced on them.

So is it being said that the SSR intake sounds like this (similar to MSR) on manual vehicles only and DCT cars aren't as loud? Just trying to get a sense of what to expect if buying this for a DCT car.

Let me elaborate a bit.

16 M4 ZCP 6sp

Naturally a manual vehicle would be driven a bit "harder" than a DCT. On my F82 the intakes are super loud since I pretty much shift between 3500-4500rpm for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. That range is where you hear the boost build up.

The induction increases as you escalate up on the RPMs, it is just pure ear sex. When releasing the gas pedal and dumping the clutch the release of pressure is loud!!

You'll get compliments here and there.

I have an AWE NON RES Switchpath, many times I close the flaps to hear the induction on street driving. You can still hear the intakes with flaps open though.

18 M3 ZCP DCT

Whenever I get to drive the F80 DCT, my style of driving is way more passive since its basically automatic.

However, you will get a similar induction noise if you drive sporty and play with the paddles.

You wont get as loud of a pressure release effect since it's a dct.

Here's an example of soft 1st,2nd and 3rd pulls.

There's a ton of sound pollution; however, you can get a feel for what to expect.

Heck yeah, if you don't mind that would be great! You'll single handedly have the most SSR intake vids on the net. Ha
