MP V2 wheel - why did I wait so long?!

Completely transformed the car! I absolutely love it and the fact that it’s OEM makes it even cooler!

Install was a breeze.

Video and photo below. Enjoy

I just got mine installed today. Not sure I like the feel of it over the stock one, but it sure looks good.

On the fence with this one. Feel like it'll be a pain to clean two different materials. Also dead skin flakes stick to alcantara like white on rice.

Ehhh I got over the whole alcantara thing.
It does feel amazing to the touch, is much grippier and thicker. Love it

Thx, I prefer the function over appearance in this case, heated stearing is super nice in the mornings.

I don’t know about yours but mine used to take 7 minutes to heat up. Pretty unacceptable If you ask me

mine starts to get warm within 30 seconds or so, maybe a minute tops. but i only tried it once to see if it works. don't need a heated steering wheel in florida

can't decide between this one or the other one that's wrapped entirely in alcantara.

The other one seems skinnier. This one is nice and beefy with a subtle flatish bottom

Still enjoying my wheel as well! Still not a fan of the blue stripe, but I got used to it. It's completely useless if you ask me. The overall square-ish grip of the wheel is my favorite part which is what makes the most impact on the driving feel. And still don't care for the heating being gone as the wheel never feels cold or hot: it's always neutral.

Side note: for anyone who is worried about alcantara being hard to upkeep or seeing white flakes on it (that's usually dandruff btw)... Well, mine still looks brand new after a lot of driving (no cleaning yet) and here is how to keep it perfect: clean your hands with soap before every use as any oil, grease, or dirt will soak right into the material and make it feel flat and slippery like dirty hair (or use hand sanitizer to degrease); for best grip and feel I highly recommend suede-lined gloves (I use bicycle "poc" gloves which are around 20 bucks) - this makes a huge difference and is a must-have; If using without gloves, wipe your hands often to get rid of sweat as alcantara eats that right up; and get an anti-dandruff solution for hair if you see white flakes on your interior (and wheel) as that's the main cause.

Other than that, alcantara has proven to be way more durable than leather over time. It can be cleaned and restored, but leather, once worn/aged, is done for and is super easy to scratch getting in/out, not to mention it fading, cracking, etc. Sure, the M leather wheel looks super nice when it's new. Look at it in 2-3 years of heavy use though. I've seen some insanely horrid wheels in used M cars.

OP wheels looks great....agree with above though. If I lived in a warmer climate, for sure would do this mod

Mine also warms up fully in less than a minute...it's too hot after that, but it's certainly nice on those cool PNW winter days.

Thanks for the nice comments fellas.

A week into this, having experienced 15F temps, I DO NOT miss the heated steering wheel.
Alcantara is so nice to the touch. And the car feels a lot sportier with this wheel.
Anyone on the fence about it - do it!
