Fuel Injector cleaning question
I have to replace the valve cover gasket due to an oil leak. Since I have to remove the fuel rail to get the cover off, I thought it might be a good idea to pull the injectors and clean any carbon buildup.
A few questions: Are there any issues with pulling them? Will I be able to reinstall them without replacing any parts? What would be the best way to clean them? I plan on replacing the coils and spark plugs while I have access, but I can't afford new injectors right now. |

So you're saying cleaning them will not make any difference?
I did some more research and found that the Teflon seals would need to be replaced, and I would need special tools to compress the new seals. So unless cleaning them would make a noticeable difference, I'm not going to touch them. Last edited by mccandless; 01-29-2018 at 10:47 AM.. |

Would recommend just leaving them alone. Last edited by MightyMouseTech; 01-29-2018 at 11:19 AM.. |
