on the fence

ok guys new to this forum but not new to BMW's i am, like i said onthe fence on getting a 135i, Z4, or Z4m...um any ideas or suggestions.
is it possible to get the Z4 up to the power of a 135i easily it just , no offense, doesn't have the power i want. but the Z4 is just way sexier than the 135i

The Z4 M has 330 horsepower the 135i 300 stock.
The turbo engine has nice flat torque curve.

But you will not enjoy revving the 135i to redline like the M.
You also will not get the small back seats the 135i gives you.

You can tune the 135i easily though to produce more power.

The 135 and 335 are underrated and actually putting out about 320-330 hp at the crank, similar output to the z4 M but with way more torque. I still prefer the S54 with the 8k redline

if you're buying, i'd say get the 135, dinan chip, exhaust from the bmw performance catalog, big brake kit, LSD, fix the weight distribution and some new tires... then you've got an m coupe killer without compromises... and a trunk to boot (no pun intended)

I think a big compromise is you would look like a turd driving down the street. The 135 is nasty looking IMO. I would go with an M Coupe or 335i Coupe.

The M Coupe is much more fun to drive than any 335i if that matters at all to you... and anything but straight line it outperforms the 335i as well.

I've been contemplating the same three cars. I think I've decided on either a Z4M or wait for the 2010 Z4 with the TTI6.

Either way, I'm just not near as excited about the 1 series as I really wanted to be.

Maybe as I get closer to actually making the purchase, practicality will rear its ugly hear and make me reconsider the 1er.
