Well, you learned a valuable lesson there. Absolutely *never* use the PayPal "gift" option when paying for goods.

OP is obviously long gone by now, so I don't expect him to chime in. If you believe in Karma, perhaps you can trust that he'll get his just deserts in time. If he's going through this much trouble just to steal a few hundred dollars from folks, he's likely got bigger problems than you as it is. You know bad people are out there and you hope not to encounter them, but once in awhile you do. All you can do is be ready, and you'll be wiser next time.
