EZ Pass Mounting Location?
Even since my 335is, I've hated the idea of mounting my EZ Pass onto my windshield since I don't commute on roads that need it. I would just hold it under the rear view mirror when going through tolls.
Decided to mount it vertically (long way up/down) against the passenger side of the connected drive hub today (but not on the dot matrix). Dulles tollway didn't pick it up at all. I'm reluctant to mount horizontally under my rear view mirror in case I get a dash cam. Does anybody have an unobtrusive location that's worked vertically or horizontally that isn't right under the mirror? |

I have never mounted my ez-pass in any car as I hate how they look....when coming up to a toll I place it on the dash on the drivers side and its always been picked up without issue...after the toll it goes back in the bag in the glove box

Sometimes did that but the transponder would often slide into the HUD projector which was a pain.
May have found the issue. I had the chubby end facing towards the drivers' side, which I suppose is the "bottom" according to the instructions. Rotated the transponder so the sloping side faces me and it worked at slow speed at least this morning. Hopefully it will at freeway speed. I see other folks with this vertical setup so it must work. |

This is what I do, I put mine in the door pocket. We do this in both my wife's X5 and my M3.

I keep mine in the door pocket as well. I know in NJ you don't really need the EZ-pass tag as the camera will scan your plate and run it to see if it belongs to an account.

I use one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Mount it on the top right corner (driver side) of rearview mirror. |

I have mine mounted to the right side of the mirror, and it's not visible to me from the driver's side.
Also, you can get one of those exterior transponders that use front license mounting points

Bought some extra 3M strips in case I need to move it. I like the idea of painting it black, I may do that. |
