Using Wireless Charging Phone is hot to touch

I know charging will be a little hot but mine is way hot after placing in the cradle for like 30min. Is it normal? My phone is a Iphone X if it matters.

This happens to me too iPhone X and the charge is super slow. I’ve stopped using it. Should I get it changed out under warranty ?

Unfortunately, I think the excess heat is the way it is. I have an iPhone 6s with a wireless charging case and the phone will get hot, too. I even got the BMW wireless charging case to ensure compatibility, but it was still getting hot. If the phone is running an app while on the charger, like Waze Or Google Maps, sometimes it will get so hot it will shut down the phone on over temp.

I have been debating taking it to the dealer since it should not get that hot. But I don't know if BMW updated the design to fix the problem.
