Looking to buy and have a MPE exhuast installed. Anyone know a good dealership that can provide a discount?

Thanks!

Have you contacted East Bay BMW or Fremont BMW?

I was hoping to save myself the trouble if someone had a recommendation at one of the dealerships who could give a bimmerpost discount or something like that. From what I've seen every dealership provides an online price through bmw usa. In the past, there was a post on Bimmerpost where purchasing from Nalley BMW in GA was the best deal.

Just wanted to see if anyone had anything similar currently.

I don’t usually see any good deals from Nor ca dealers for in house or online purchases.

Brit@bmwpartpros gives good prices but being in So cal, you get charged tax and shipping.

Getbmwparts.com (also a vendor here) gives same good pricing with no tax but will pay shipping.

This is all if you want a new system, used ymmv

The discount you should be aiming for is around 20% off of MSRP. That was the Black Friday deal last year at various dealerships.

The deals were ON Black Friday (1 day only) so you'll need to call around and ask for Black Friday pricing. The pricing will usually not be advertised but the parts department were authorized to give around 20% off everything... sometimes more.

I've had luck just pressing on my Service advisor for various part installs both purchased at the dealer and elsewhere. Usually he sends me his initial price, I complain they are expensive and say I may just go elsewhere, he comes back with a better price, I complain some more, and then he comes back with something acceptable. I am sure I pay more than rock bottom at times but he's a good guy so I like throwing him the business if it makes sense. Plus I trust them to get it right and not mess it up. That's worth an extra few $$$ to me.

Hellokitty and robbymack, can you help OP by stating what dealers he should focus on? There’s so many around Nor Cal.

So in contacting dealers, it seems like Brian Keller from Sun Motors BMW in PA is the cheapest shipped to Cali for a MPE w/ Carbon Fiber tips.

$4780 shipped to SF. [Retail is $5,724]

Will keep looking around Nor Cal, but I feel like most Nor Cal dealerships don't want to play ball. If anyone has recommendations let me know.

For those interested in Brian Keller, his email is BKeller@sunmotorcars.com

Sounds like a good deal. About 18% off shipped is the same as Black Friday pricing but you save on sales tax.

Word of advice

I'd recommend developing a relationship with ONE service advisor at ONE dealership. Spend a couple bucks or give them a good review. I promise you a good SA will work with you.

The profit margin for this kind of stuff is very minimal so not worth the dealership's SA offering any discount—especially if you brow beat them for a lower price or make threats. If the SA sees it as mutual beneficial relationship he'll work with you.

A good dealership is worth the price you pay. Some dealerships offering cost or below cost will likely give you the quality of service that is relative to what you pay and you'll likely have to drive way off the beaten path to a low volume, desperate dealer.

As the saying goes: you get what you pay for.
