American racing headers pricing.

how is it that my friend with a 2013 mustang pays 1600 USD for headers.

but I need to pay 3400 USD on a 2008 e92 M3.

looking at the amount of metal used and the bends there is no significant difference in R and D or fabrication.

I knew there was an M tax when buying this car but some of the price differences when looking at the same manufactures for the same parts on both cars is just rediculous.

Just wanted to have a rant.

Spread out the R&D cost over the number of units sold or estimated to be sold. 100 BMW vs 1000 Ford.

That is on dyno claims — still no independent dyno. This is on price.

Dave Eaton is doing a GB on this. Headers only price is below 2k. The 3.4k price includes x-pipe I believe.

It has to include the xpipe. They’re long tube headers and won’t mate up to any normal aftermarket xpipe.

Still happy with my headers to this day.

O2 Bungs: 4

Flange Thickness: 3/8"

Agreed, especially when you need to smog the car every 2 years. Thats what really stopped me. Switching out an Xpipe vs. swapping out the headers are 2 different beasts.
