Rear camera view question

I just noticed today that my car has a rear tow view option for the rear camera. I've had my car for 3 years and swear that was never an option. Can things be added via BMW updates? Thanks for any help.

Not standard on F8X. This is usually coded in.

Doesn't it also need the additional hardware?

No, it's shared from the X5's HU_NBT profile. Simply make MACRO_TRAILER_COUPLING active. You should see a little trailer hitch icon in the bottom left corner of your iDrive screen when in reverse.

Wow, I've never coded that. Oh well, guess it's useful for towing that 5th wheel I've always wanted.

Then... have you paid for coding for something else? Coders sometimes code freebies that customers don’t even realize them. Again, tow view is not part of the F8x camera features so this was coded after delivery somehow.

Yeah - I've seen the tow hitch (sometimes called rear cam zoom) as a code-able option on the M4.

Thanks guys. Never coded it, all i did was the auto fold mirrors on comfort. It helps when backing up to something so its nice to have.
