I hate BMW flexray protocol

I hate BMWs flexray protocol. This is ultimately the one this that prevents us from creating/running a full plug and play ecu. Does anyone know any way around this besides running a full race setup and getting rid of most oem stuff?

The reasons flexray was introduced mean you'd degrade capability as it cannot be supported by a couple of CAN buses. It might be better to make friends with MEVD17. What are the main features you desire in the aftermarket ECU?

Push to start, traction control, knock sensors, ect. As many oem features as possible. I would like the car to be as oem as possible but with the ability to fully tune and set safe guards in the ecu.
I have been told that working around flexray is impossible and that ill never be able to get a standalone to work?
What is MEVD17? Username or code lol
I talk to the head guy at motec and he said no one will touch it. He said you either have to run a dual ecu setup or make the car full race and gut it.

MEVD17 is the type of OEM ECU. Sounds like you would be better tuning that. There are lots of safeguards a good tuner can do.

I mean safe guard settings like boost cut, fuel cut, depending on boost pressure, fuel, oil pressure, knock, ect

I have contacted a bunch of tuners and i have heard back from them.

Many of those exist and others can be added. I added some for fuel pressure and running lean with new custom code to go with flex fuel, but they were going to be part of third party software and now are not, so not sure when or where they will see the light of day on BMW.

I am having a hard to reaching out to some tuners i dont get any calls back. I write to them i am trying to do a custom turbo setup with built motors. I am super serious and i am asking these questions because i dont want to have my $36,000 motor blow because it was improperly tuned.

If you know of anyone that is knowledgeable about this stuff let me know.
