Block heater?

Anyone ever request a block heater installed by the dealer and if so, what did they charge you?

I don’t think block heaters are technically possible on these cars, are they? Closest you might be able to get is a DEFA system that heats and circulates coolant (which I had in my F32). Some are even combined with battery chargers as well (which I had in 2011 E90). I have to say, though, neither were entirely trouble free, but both did in fact heat up the coolant. Benefit? Near instant cabin heat in the winter.

At a minimum, I would say keep your battery charged with the correct “tender”.
