Downpipe or new rear section

Iv had the AA midpipe on my '17 M3 ZCP for a few months now and I'm craving something louder that will pop more often and with less effort.

Should I risk fucking with my warranty by going catless downpipe or should I just get a Remus axle back or something

The pops and burbles will be louder with a more free flowing exhaust, by removing the cats you will find a bit more "natural" burble and also more pops.

The muffler will probably not create the sounds you're looking for

If warranty is your concern, I suggest starting with aftermarket muffler with the midpipe. The stock muffler does a really good job muffling the sounds, even with the valves open. Aftermarket mufflers let out more noise and pops. Start with that, and if it’s still not loud enough (which I doubt), try Catless downpipes only with the midpipe.

Remus is an excelling muffler choice. That would be the one to get. I also like the MPE muffler it works really well with AA midpipe too. If you’re in a populated area, ask another enthusiast to hear they’re set-up! If you live by one of the shops, ask them to do a rev for you to get a feel for your options!

Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the journey of improving the car to your tastes!

Is tuning the car an option?

You can always add the REMUS axle back and get a map with aggressive burble tune.

The shop's M4 has stock exhaust and downpipes running Active Autowerke stage 1.5 with aggressive burble, it sounds amazing as is

Note: Active Autowerke midpipe + REMUS axle back w/ carbon tips will be installed soon on the M4
