CarPlay Subscription

My F80 ZCP will be delivered next week and has CarPlay compatibility. The dealer told me that the 2018 models with CarPlay was a one time payment and good for 20 years. There was no subscription like the 2019 models.

Of course, being in Florida, I really didn't believe him so I called BMW and they told me that this is correct (although I don't believe them either ). Subscription is only on vehicles 2019+. Oh yeah, he said it's $80/mo

For those of you who have a CarPlay subscription, is that what you are paying ($80/mo)? That really seems excessive.

For those using CarPlay on 2018 models, are you paying a subscription?
