Eccentric Shaft Sensor Opinions?

Hello,
Currently doing valve cover gasket(s) and was wondering if this is "enough oil" to consider replacing the sensor? Didn't really budget for it so thought i would check/ask here first since its very expensive.

Just replace the gasket around it, and clean those nine teeth where the sensor connects. No need to change the sensor.

Good question lol. Most autoparts stores sell "electronics cleaner", you can try that. The only issue is that make sure you disconnect the car battery before spraying it, and make sure the engine is cold. you can use a lint free towel to do your best to clean around the teeth.

I shall look into that. I was considering using like a medicine dropper to suck out the little bit of oil

Had to get a new valve cover and its -20C so i haven't put it all back together yet. anyone used any SMP - products and would recommend? The sensor is only $300 as compared to BMW's $700
