Con rod only sold in sets
Why can't I buy just one rod? They are only sold in sets anymore?

Probably because they're matched in terms of weight to insure everything's balanced properly.

There is some weight tolerance between the connecting rods but then we are talking about a couple of grams maximum. So yes theoretically you could replace just one connecting rod but then I would weigh them all 6 and ensure that there is not more than 1 gram of weight difference. This can be handled by specialist but as you can already figure out you might as well replace them all and weigh the rods that came in the set first.
If I am not mistaken the stock rods weigh 570 grams. Last edited by G4BR13L; 03-05-2019 at 10:21 AM.. |
