Whats a fair Money Factor for an Ordered 2020 M4?
Hi all, looking at ordering an individual color M4 locally. They have treated us really well so far so I am not trying to get a car for no profit on their end, but of course the initial number on their estimate (before talking to BMW NA for approval and final MSRP on my combo) on 89k MSRP was using a money factor of the maxed .00205 (with the highest BMW allowable .0004 tacked on and 5000 down) with a risidual of I believe 49kish on 3yr/12k miles a year. (1248 a month)
I understand this is their "lets see if they are suckers" initial pass haha, but I just was wondering whats a reasonable "good for you good for good for us" money factor to shoot for? Is it unreasonable to think assuming 89k starting msrp and adding the m-performance carbon bits and performance exhaust for us to perhaps be able to escape at around 1200 a month with no money down? I'm comfortable with that monthly number since thats what the loan on our C7Z would be a month but I don't want to have to drop a ton of cash. Thanks for any help. This is our first time leasing so just learning the ropes, reading the wiki and leasehacker. I am also not sure what is reasonable to ask for as a final vehicle price considering this is a 2020 custom order and not a 2019 on a lot. I don't want to come off as an asshole ya know? Trying to build a relationship and hopefully get a 2021/2 M3 when our lease is up or close to being up. |

Just ask for the base money factor. They make plenty of money already.
You don't need to make a relationship with the dealership to get G80 M3. Allocations won't be hard to find.

right, as you know the residual is not up to the dealer for negotiation, that is set by BMWFS. MF, and capitalized cost are the numbers they play with, along with the money down. |

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'm sure I will have some more questions when they get back to me with MSRP tomorrow or Tuesday but I appreciate the help!

Base...? lol Shouldn't really have anything higher than the base. Also remember you do can multiple MSDs for a lower MF.

Looks like MSRP is gonna be around 95/96k.
Sales guy texted me after I told them I wanted to use base MF and he said "my manager would rather negotiate on price and leave the money factor at .00205." We will see how hard they try to push that. Not looking super promising atm though. |

When I bought my M4 3 months ago, I got 0.00147. I got 0.00177 - .00030 for multiple MSDs (7 I think)? which is 3.528%. |

Yeah it's pretty wild to me.
I don't want to throw down 5k just to drive the same car as other people who are getting good deals for the sake of a color. Wacky. |

For some people, color matters a lot. It did to me, I wanted white exterior with red interior. I could have gotten a better deal with a ZCP with White Exterior and black interior, but I really wanted the red interior.

Thats what they quoted 0 down 36mo/12000miles a year.
Seems a bit steep to me. I get they can't really compete directly with cars on the lot getting 20% off and 5k lease incentives, but it would be a tough pill to swallow just for purple knowing you could almost lease 2 ZCP M4s for this much a month (unless people are spinning tall tales of these 800-900/mo leases on ZCP Ms) Options are- Daytona Violet Individual Cohiba Individual Interior DCT ZCP Executive Package Driver Assistance Package CF Splitter and Aero CF Diffuser CF Selector Lever CF Spoiler I do think we were going to pay taxes separately, but IDK if that makes a huge difference. Also don't really need Driver Assistance Plus IMO. Still I think it's on the weak side of a deal. Last edited by NinjaBum; 06-13-2019 at 07:49 PM.. |

Kidding aside, if you're crazy about the color combo, then get a much better offer on paper elsewhere and see if they will match (or at least get close to it). If not, walk away and let us know who the dealer is so others can avoid wasting their time there too. |

Yeah it's a bit nutty, I agree. I haven't been back up there so I've been doing it through email and such as I don't want to play the in-person games where you waste a whole day there as they wear you down.
I do really want a purple M, I just don't want to take it in the rear to get one. The only one on autotrader right now is at an Autonation dealer so of course they were not interested in budging at all from their near-1300/mo with 5k down, including 5k incentives and maxed out money factor. XD Maybe Jimmy B can help with ordering this, I dunno. |

You are getting hosed just because the dealership is treating you nicely. All dealerships treat customers nicely enough during the purchase process. Unless you have fuck you money, I wouldn't even bother with that deal/dealership.

How much is the MSD taking down from the MF? Is it still 0.00007 like it was in the old days or did they take it down?
