SOLVED - mystery cooling fan plug

Note - for purposes of this post, I'm referring to left/right side in terms of looking into the engine bay from the front of the car. Car is a 2013 135is with N55.

I was replacing the left (passenger) xenon headlight bulb, and when I pulled a wire to the side for clearance, this came out. I swear it seemed to pop out from the extreme left side behind the headlight cover (in the corner near the turn signal assembly).

I looked up the part number and it's a radiator cooling fan harness plug. As far as I can determine, there is only one harness plug that goes into the radiator cooling fan, and it's on the right side. And it is currently plugged in:

So what is this plug, and where did it come from? I can't see anywhere this second cooling fan plug could possibly go on the left side.

Anyone know?

Hi to all, I have the same modification and I think I really stuck now, please help guys! Before my pump was switching off sometimes, but now it doesn't works at all, my car was at the garage in the Netherlands for a 1.5 month and guy could not solve it... he said all fuses are ok. The pump is only 7k miles(almost new) might there are changes in the fuse box and he did not check properly? Could somebody pls tell me where to check in that case? thanks in advance!
