I bought 18 inch Apex FL-5 for the track. Rear wheel is et44 and 11 inches wide.
Putting R888R on them (front already has a set).
Will putting 305 35 18 in the rear be overkill since these tires tend to run wider and fatter? I know 305/35 closely resembles stock diameter but do R888R really run this much wider and fatter?

Thanks

Is there such a thing as overkill?

I think the question would be better answered if you provided front tire size as well.

I run 315/30x19 Cup2's on an 11" ET 43 and the tyres don't scrape on an M4. I doubt the 305 R88R's would be wider than a 315 Cup2

Ok quick update

Rear is awsome
Front 275 is a bit too close to the perch of MPerformance HA suspension. Need to work some things out.
