Exhaust options for new E92 owner

Hello all,

I know that these questions have been asked all too much, but I just picked up an E92 with DCT. It’s completely stock and I’m interested in getting an X-pipe. I’m considering either the Active Autowerke or Macht Schnell system, leaving the stock muffler and stock primary cats in place.

My question is, will I need to a tune? Also, if I opt for the AA X-pipe, the kit comes with straight pipes to replace primaries. Can I just leave these out? Also open to anyone’s suggestions on a good x-pipe/tune set up.

Thank you!

Also, are there any sales anywhere for the ESS or BPM tunes?

The AA kit has high flow catalytic converter option you can swap out with test pipes via v-band. Might need an adapter or weld the OEM cats to the AA x-pipe. You will not need a tune unless you remove the primaries.

Thanks for the reply. I’d prefer an easy plug and play option for the x-pipe. If I do the AA x-pipe with primary delete and stock muffler, will the car be very loud?

Serious question to op, why you you rather wait for replies to your question that you acknowledge has been asked many times rather than search and get quicker information. You have google at your fingertips but would rather post a redundant question? Blows my mind... maybe I'm just old, I remember having to go to the library for info.

Literally hours and hours of reading about exhausts in the forum, just look around and you will find, but I'm feeling helpful today so here:
