Carmax gave me $28,200 for it, which was quite surprising as it was more than all the online estimates which had $27K as best case for private party sale and quite a bit less for a trade-in.

There is a new online offer tool in Edmunds that uses CarMax. Keep putting your VIN in. It fluctuates $3-5k per day.

Did you get a pro rated refund for your extended warranty if not 28k is pretty low considering you still have 3 more years of coverage. I traded in my F16 earlier this year MY16 60k miles with about 2 years of platinum coverage left for 33,200 with a kbb value at the time of 30,999
