M Performance v2 install issue

So I decided to purchase and install the M Performance v2 steering wheel. The install seemed pretty straight forward. I transferred everything over to the new wheel without issue but when I went to reinstall and turned on the car I turned the steering wheel and the horn turns on and won’t turn off till I disconnect the battery. I feel like i may have installed the air bag incorrectly because I can only unlatch the left side now. I’ve spent the last hour trying to unlatch the right side of the airbag but it seems like the latch isn’t where it’s suppose to be. Sorry if this is not the correct place for this discussion I am new to the forums. Any help is much appreciated.

Try disconnecting the battery again.
Then snap the airbag back in
Then try to unhook the airbag starting with the side that gave you trouble (RH)

Check to make sure all the wires are clipped back in their proper routing and clear of the airbag release holes and retention clips.

Snap the airbag back in and make sure both sides snap back into place.

Thanks man. I was finally able to get the right side undone. Redid the whole thing and just went on a test drive. HORN is working normal haha. Shout to Tommy L Garage for his YouTube video. Very happy with my purchase.

My only major gripe with that video is that he doesn’t have DCT (I know, not his fault) so was lost a bit on how to disconnect the paddle connectors as they are pretty tight.

Maybe a bit closer up and not as fast forwarded would have helped. Dunno.

I’ve done two of these now. I swapped my wheel for a V2 and then swapped my old wheel onto my sons 335i M Sport with paddles/lane departure/heated steering.

Totally agree with you. I wasn’t sure if you had to unclip them or just pull them apart. I ended up finding another video on YouTube with DCT not as of a good video it got it done. All in all I’m super happy I didn’t it myself lol
