Re71R noise on hard cornering after a track day
Hey so I've been running re71R on my car for a while.
I started driving the ring regularly this year. I noticed a few weeks ago coming from the front of the car during hard cornering a metallic Velcro noise. It's not the usual sticky sound the tires make but if you could imagine a metallic click sound but as a continuous tone, as if the belt is flexing inside the tire. Anyway I replaced the tires with new and the noise appeared to go away. One day at the ring and it's back. Couple of things. Maybe it's the tire? Maybe it's a wheel bearing? Seems more pronounced after tires are heated. This could be because I can pull more gs when tires are hot so it still doesn't rule out the bearing. Seems louder on front left. Has anybody had a noise like this on their car or tires? Last edited by behindthen0thing; 07-21-2020 at 02:42 AM.. |

I didn't hear it until after running the track.
Been running re71R for over a year and never heard it before. Maybe overheated tires? I'll find it if it's the wheel bearings or not. Failed wheel bearings usually make some sort of humming though. This is obviously different. |
