Driving Boston to LA....with tinted windows
Okay, so I plan to drive from Boston to CA but feel a little gun shy about the tint. Anyone drive across country with tint and avoided the law? When I lived in CA before, the law had me peel the tint off twice ....only I later put it back on twice
Anyway, space gray looks awesome with dark tint....I'm just not sure I can get away with it driving across country. I'll have MA plates until I unpack in CA. Your thoughts? |

If you were a resident of that particular state it would be a problem.
Just enjoy your trip and don't sweat the small stuff. Im on an east coast trip right now and have been thru states where my tint is not legal and have had no issues |

I've driven cross country twice with tint. No problem. I don't do the ghetto 10 or 20 percent tints, though. Those are just asking for trouble.

It's fine to have tinted windows....the ones that are so dark are ridiculous. How can people even see out the windows at night? Why not just spray paint the windows black so no one can see inside or outside....he he.
I prefer to see the car behind me at night and know it's not a cop. |

Have to agree with JIO. A decent tint is fine. When it comes to the blacked out tint...in any ride...I just draws more attention especially to cops. I think in their minds even if your a "celebrity and are people that are well-off" does not come to their first thoughts. More like what is that person hiding in that car and Who is in that car. Like anything else....moderation.

limousine tint is not practical, however

It says in the site that the front must allow 70% of light in for CA, http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/CA Does it mean 30% tint?

You always drive the entire trip with your windows down. Then there wouldn't be a tinting issue.
