I got that too. But they fucked it up by changing the tranny fluid after updating it. FUCKING SONS OF BITCHES.

The human species must be carrying some kind of gene that makes some of its members act like complete dumbasses when faced with a DCT transmission.

The biggest dumbass is one that thinks that the DCT is inherently problematic when in fact, the problem is created by human dumbfucks working at dealerships. Whats ur agenda pal?

Even if the software update DCT recall is announced soon for the US, I shall wait until the verdict is in from the first few who actually get the update. My track season is done and the DCT works perfectly fine for normal daily driving, and who knows if this supposed recall even fixes the threshold-braking-non-downshifting issue.
I'm glad that BMW was on the case and the ball is rolling in some markets though! Good news.

Anyone read the last issue of Car and Driver Track Meat??? The M3 was 1.2 sec slower around the track then the new Caddy CTS-V and they blamed it on the M-DCT for not downshifing on command. In fact they state the car ran its best lap in automatic mode.

So are they saying that there are situations where the transmission will actually downshift when in auto mode, but would not have if it had been in manual mode?

....not funny that they messed your car up, just the use of the curse words just made me laugh.

My guess is that the recall would have more to do with the stalling/loss of power issues people have reported. Hopefully the downshift issues get helped as well... but I doubt they would issue any kind of recall for that.

Very interesting, would love to see a copy of the bulletin/notice as well. Other than the way UK cars default to D instead of S I'd bet the software is identical. Seems BMW realizes it could be a safety issue. Sure will be interesting to see if they do a recall here in the US. We are awfully law suit happy over here.
