onboard tool kit on E92

hey guys,

for those of you that have an E92 with sunroof, can you check your tool kit and see if you are missing the allen wrench? The owners manual specifically states that there is an *Allen wrench in the tool kit which would be used to manually close the sunroof if it malfunctions, however there is no allen wrench there.
When I asked my sales guy about it he said BMW doesn't include them anymore and that this is normal....

So is everyone missing this?

Mine didn't come with one, either. Just a screwdriver and tow hook.

lol shouldn't that be a good thing for you though? That's one less m3 with a CF roof. Makes CF roofs less frequent

I think you guys should worry less about the missing wrench and more about the missing CF roof.........

Revived this thread to ask if any of the moonroof owners have bought the tool.

My car only came with the screwdriver and tow hook. I'm glad I'm not the only one, but other coupes had the open-end wrench as well; guess it was omitted on late build '08s, like mine. However, I haven't read of anybody having the moonroof wrench, and I definitely want that one. After holding for an hour, my dealer couldn't come up with a part number to order it. Any help would be appreciated. And yes, I'll order the open-end wrench too so my toolkit looks full .

You can buy one for under a buck, though the dealer should give you one. There is also a slot for a wheel lock wrench there.

Thanks a bunch Greg. I'm glad you posted that because the other number I found it's different (54 10 7 157 443). I have the feeling dealers mark that price up at least 8 times . I'll find out tomorrow. Take care.
