Visiting Cali....saw many M3s

Hey guys....

I'm out in California from Boston on vacation this week and decided to stop by Southbay BMW to look at the M3s with some buddies.

I was shocked to see 12 2008 M3s on the lot....not including those in the showroom and at other storage facilities. Not sure this is a normal number but I bet they are dying to get rid of them.

If you are in CA and looking for a deal, Southbay has a fleet they'd probably want to get rid of....I saw at least 6 verts......4 coupes with DCT. Give'em a call.

That's exactly right. Mostly all DCT at Crevier also. That's one reason why I ended up having to special order mine. And, another interesting thing I noticed is that out of maybe 10 that I saw, maybe 1 or 2 had the stock radio, all others were the 1900 upgrade.

I'm I'm Houston, TX. How much would it cost and how much trouble is it for me to get a Cali dealer to truck me an M3 coupe with DCT? I think I can get a better deal in Cali than in Houston, where the economy is still mighty strong due to the oil & gas industry and ship channel.

Dunno the process...but, it wouldn't hurt to call the sales rep that helped me. His name is Tom Curren at Crevier in Santa Ana, CA. Look them up on-line for the number. Feel free to tell him you were referred by Ed Bohon.

never liked southbay bmw and their haughty attitudes. Buy your car from BevHills or Long Beach BMW.

Are you serious? The economy here is plenty strong, as in strongest in the country.

Yup, waiting for 2010 model, but if the right car & deal were available I may be persuaded. No hurry on my part.

Yeah, really bad economy. The SB lot was almost full with 08s (Ms, Zs, 3s, 5, and 7s).

There are around 20 at the dealership near me (Bay area, San Jose). The service manager there said, "they aren't selling like BMW hoped for, so they're a bit more rare that way." I believe so as well.

You should move to the northeast. I saw my first M3 in the wild, AW coupe with tints.

In the metro DC area (northern VA, DC, suburban MD) I almost never see an E90/92/93 M3 (except on dealer lots). I've seen maybe 5 total?
