M-Drive doubt

Hi all,

I just placed an order for an M3 09 coupe (Carbon, black novillo, NAV, MDCT, PDC) and was wondering whether the M-Drive option is worthwhile. Here in europe you can get it as optional. I don't quite get the difference in the control you'd have between M-DCT possibilities (5+6 programs) and the M-DCT with M-Drive.
Btw is M-Dynamic mode included with the car without getting the M-Drive?

Could someone elaborate please? I'd still be able to add the optional as i get a Jan 09 delivery.
Thank you.

Clear Roads,
Matt3

I don't have it, can't help you there...

My thoughts were that I probably just have it in one setting anyway, so not worth the extra. I just put my M3 always in Sport Mode (M Power on).
It's great and don't really miss it...

But then I might not know what I am missing...

Good luck!

No M-Dynamic mode without the Tech package. I don't think M Drive is a big deal as it allows you to save multiple settings, but M-Dynamic mode is good for mere mortals like myself that know would like the benefits of a computer safety net but want more tolerance for slip and yaw than the standard ON/OFF of VDC. I don't have M-Dynamic and its the one feature that if I could do it all over again, I'd go back to get the tech package.

without M Drive you won`t have the Sport Plus throttle setting, the Sport steering setting, and M Dynamic mode. Personally, I wish all the settings could be controlled by the console buttons instead of going through iDrive.

Right no Sport PLUS mode, but you do have Sport mode as compared to 'regular' or normal mode. As for the looks, you still have a Power button...

Overall not sure whether you need to spend the EUROS on something else or just save money... Individual audio is a better way to spend your money IMO.

if you plan to track your car ever, it is my recommendation that you get M-drive. M dynamic mode and sport plus are indispensable on the track. there's nothing wrong with DSC off, but MDM works very well also.
