Anybody use the Swift Light assist on the DCT yet

I know there are some DCT veterans out here already who got pass Break In point, I was wondering how they like it and if its worth [using|trying] after DCT Break In

Its pretty neat, lets you know exactly when you should shift. And with the new DCT software update its perfect.

It's just another indicator as well as the rev counter to aid in making the perfect shift. And as FifthStreetz said, the new software makes things that but easier to achieve.

shift lights are cool, but i've only really found them completely useful on the track.

Yeah, for earlier DCT cars with the old software like mine, the shift lights were useless since by the time you react to the shift lights you would bounce off the limiter thanks to the lag between the paddle/lever input and the actual shift.

Now with the new Progman 31.1 or later update, the shift lights work perfectly with the DCT transmission. Shifting near or at redline can be done more consistently and there is virtually no chance of bouncing of the rev limiter unless its the driver's fault. Like someone said, much more useful at the track since sane people don't usually redline gears on a regular basis for daily driving.

Are we really talking 8500 rpm here guys. thats a little folding the envelope.
I guest Hway State drive would be possible.

.. has anyone fail to swift at redline and does fuel really cutoff when you miss the shift points

ps
I get this "!" one time, before I start.. I know its not related to it but it went away after I bump the swift knob to D

I have to disagree, I found that I could get consistent redline shifts (pre-software update) by selecting the shift as the last yellow shift light illuminates before the first red one illuminates.

I agree that I find the shift lights useful primarily on the track. I don't do a lot of full power redline shifts on the street.

Yes, but it's a soft limiter, in other words it doesn't abruptly cut the power and unsettle the car. You simply stop accelerating.

After every chnge between sequential and drive mode ( Q- I take they mean Manual and Drive mode, correct?) the program selected last in each case is active?

I means if you're running D5 (for example) and then you switch to any S mode (1-5) when you switch back to D mode it will be D5. It remembers which S and D modes you most recently selected and when you switch back and forth between S and D it it will go the mode most recently selected.

However when you turn off the car and then restart it, S3 is the default.

Unless your car is in Europe when it defaults to D2.

Yeah which is really annoying! Wish it would just remember which mode and drivelogic program you used last and started with that i.e. switch off in S4 (my preferred daily driving mode) and then when restarted, starts in S4.

So do you switch it from D2 to S4 everytime you get in the car?
