Your a bit off. There is a e90 JzB that ended at $50k. But the reserve was not met, so don't know if it actually sold.

There is also a e92 SSII that ended at $40,100. But again, reserve not met.

Whether either seller pursued the sale at the below reserve pricing is beyond my knowledge. No way of knowing aside from contacting them directly.

There is a 2008 e90 SSII for sale. 23min left.

Highest bid atm is $40k. Reserve not met. I'd go for it, if it wasn't the totaly opposite of all the color options and style I wanted.

There's something fishy about that auction...I emailed the seller a few hours after it started regarding the "I am willing to sell the car for $27,000" line, and didn't get a reply. New seller, no feedback, a few camera phone pictures...something's not right. If the buyer really does get the car as described for $40k, then kudos, but I doubt that'll go through.

"I am willing to sell the car for $27,000"

LOL! It's like saying:

"This is just a scam, so I am happy to make any money I can"

Wow, now that's a steal! If it was local and still for sale, I would've have definitely looked at it.

I just got an email back from this guy last night:
Quote:
Hello,

Thank you for your interest in my 2008 BMW M3 Sedan.

I wanted to let you know that the car is still available. I had a buyer offering $40,350 but his loan was not approved and now the car is still for sale..I am willing to sell the car for $37,000, i have put a wrong price in eBay description($27,000). You will not find this price very often. .I'm selling it at this price only because i have serious financial problems and need the money asap. The car looks and works perfect, clear title, no accidents no dents, smoke free, good tires.
I will give you the chance to receive and inspect the car before giving me the money.
For this transaction i want to use eBay Vehicle Protection Program so we can both be safe.
Also, this purchase protection guarantees that the car is exactly as I described; basically, once delivered, you'll have 7 days to inspect it at your home and if you decide not to keep it you will get refunded in no time and they will charge me with the return costs.

If you agree with these terms, please email me your eBay user name along with your Full Name, address and phone number so I can start this process through eBay. As soon as eBay informs me that the money has been received, I will have your car shipped. If you'll send the money by noon tomorrow, I can even have the car shipped same day and it should get to you in about less than 4 days. If you could then release the funds before the inspection period ends, I'd much appreciate it. I'm sure you'll love the car the day you'll get it.

Look forward to receiving your answer asap.

Wow, what a great deal! Even with shipping, that's still $15k-$20k under market. The VIN checks out as 2008 BMW M3 sedan, and there's even a Howard Ingham, Regional Director of FortisTCS in Tampa.

If only he would have taken just a little initiative to write the letter himself, and hadn't used such a well-indexed scam letter template...

It's a scam. I ran the VIN through DCSnet and it's a demo from a dealer just down the road from mine. It even has the real owner's name on it and it is registered in St. Louis, MO. Go ahead and have fun with this guy.

I have seen this a few different times....usually it has been an ad on Autotrader...M3's, RS6's...etc...
I would sell mine for $37,000....however if you want the engine, I'll need another $30,000.....
