Newbie and Non-M3 Owner :(
Have been intrigued by the new M3 and the bug has bitten me... I crave one!
Currently, I own a 2007 Charger SRT8, KW Variant 1 coilovers and a Vortech blower pushing 8psi... those are my major mods. Anyway, I'm a huge fan of the new M3 and given the opportunity, would trade my Charger for one... I appreciate the overall abilities, build and material quality, etc of the M3; and for what I want my Charger to be in the handling department, I figured to just bump it up a notch and eventually go for the new M3 and have the warranty, amenities, etc.! AND... I have never even driven a BMW M series! Although I'll be doing more reading than posting (as I know nothing about these cars compared to you all)... when I fail to do searches and ask the occassional lame question, please forgive. Maybe someday I'll join your ranks! |

SRT8's are fast, I won't deny that. I've raced one while driving an SLK55. The SRT8 lost the race by quite a bit in the top end but gave me a good run none the less in the low.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I welcome you to the forum and hopefully you decide to get an M3 some day. It truly is a great car! Cheers! |

You'll occasionally get the "use the search button" replies from time to time but don't worry too much about it. We were all at that stage where you were once. Welcome.

Thanks for the welcome folks.
BTW: The reason for my name is from another forum (MotherMopar), just shortened for here... I'd love to test drive one, but then I'd be haunted by the car. I have yet to see one in person... and I live in the San Diego, CA area. Have to stop by a dealer for a peek I guess... I just like seeing cars on the road, to see them in motion, to get a real feel for its appearance... its all about the dynamics for me. |

Welcome.
If you want one for a great price, you should be aware that BMW is blowing out the 08's with 0.9% financing. You can get them at invoice price also because dealerships just want them gone. The 0.9% offer is supposed to end on the 31st, however, given how many cars are still left it will likely get extended beyond then (though there's no guarantee). |

Hey Mother,
Welcome aboard! For whatever it's worth, I've owned all kinds of high performance cars, and like my M3 the best by far. It's great from the start, but the longer I own mine the more the electronics and controls make sense. So it just gets better. Hopefully one of our friends from your area will invite you along for a ride in one. Then you'll really be in trouble. |

The Charger SRT8 is a nice car but E9x M3 FTW!!!
I hope you get your new M3 in the very near future! Set up a test drive appointment and ready to be amazed by how fun it is! |

I just told the wife I joined this forum... Not too pleased!!! I'm a well known member/staff on a mopar site (translated into woman language: I spend too much time on that forum, on my car and planning mods/spending money) so she knows what's coming (new car fever) and is none to excited about it!
I can see the divorce papers now: "the ungrateful SOB wants an M3 now..."!!! |
