Info for a present and Future m3 owner.

Well until this week, i have been happilly faithfull to my 95 e36, but after seeing a few e92 out in the wild i have a thirst to restore and renew my m-power.

A few questions for recent buyers of the new m3.

1. Should I get White with red interior, Blue with red, or red with black.
2. Is the M-drive quality when compared to the merc and audi competitor navi-audio systems?
3. Is there any performance difference between the three types (i would assume the coupe is the fastest and most rigid) although i have heard differently.
4. Finally what is a realistic waiting period after one orders their m3 before its completion and delivery.

Hopefully i dont have to part with my first true love, but its just no longer the fastest kid on the block.

1) Color is a personal matter. No one can tell you what to choose. So to answer you: choose the color YOU like.
2) I've heard that the merc's navi is light years away. However, it works fine for me and gets me where I need to go so no complaints.
3) e93 is the slowest out of the 3 obviously. People say the e90 has better handling than the e92. I've heard that, don't know too much about it.
4) Since you are ordering, It depends on if they have an allocation number. Mine took 2 and a half months to get here.

If you are parting with your previous car because it's not the fastest, then why not get something faster than the m3 for the same price since speed seems to be what you are after? Just an idea.

Merc's got a new CLK AMG based on the S chassis coming out the end of 2010, also has update Audio, NAV systems etc. Rummors it will produce around 500hp, the old CLK chassis could handle HP over 400 unless you bought the Black Series CLK.

I think this was misunderstood maybe because a misphrase by me, mercs just arent sporty enough, Im a bmw man. I just wanted to know how the navis compared between the mercs and bimmers.

Just get a Garmin and keep the dash looking clean.
I just don't get the fascination with Nav in an M car.

This car is light years ahead of your E36. I had a pretty heavily modded E36 M3 and LOVED that car, but this thing is at another level.

The problem with that man is when time comes to sell it, 95% of people are going to turn it down because of the no navi.

1. get whatever color you like
2. if you're a bimmer man, than no answer will matter because you'll still get the bimmer
3. tenths of a second wont matter in the streets... again get whatever you like
4. ask the dealership when you put the order in

I was under the impression based on the '09 brochure tha Le Man and Interlagos cannot be ordered with fox red?

And even if so....it would be FUGLY!

I agree totally. You'll have to adjust heel&toe with the drive-by-wire but the car is everything advertised.

DakarE36, I remember seeing your car on Bf.C and it is clean on the 17's. You should definitely keep her. I had to let go of mine because I ran out of garage space.

I'm picking up an 08 white with red interior tomorrow. All dealers are selling a little over invoice and .005 money factor for leases and their is no wait. You have today and tomorrow left. Hurry.
