It will be a tough sell at this time of the year plus the down economy. You will loose a lot of money for selling your 06 Cayman S. I found the hard way when I got an 05 BoxS and sold it the next year to get my Bimmer. I lost 16K. If it is a 911 then it will be a different story. Just keep it you you really want it.

Had the same issue with my track car. Even though I got the M3, I vowed not to sell it. Then I took the M3 out on track and the previous car was sold soon after. (ie, it wasn't a cayman though!)
However, as I see you live in Austin with the best roads in Texas, I could see why it would be hard to sell a car thats as exceptionally balanced as the cayman. |

If you've got the garage space, I'd keep both too. That is a very sexy Cayman. By the way, a few M3 owners will be driving up through Austin to Llano for a BBQ lunch at Cooper's. You and anyone else from Austin are welcome to join us. Those aren't time attacks. They look like powdercoated Porsche OEM crabclaws.

If you can afford to keep both, then all the power to you.
I think both your cars are sweet. One car for you and a buddy at the track and another for you, your wife and your kids at the track. It's a win, win situation! |

Sweeeet Croc you have there!! I almost purchsed an '08 CS instead of my M93...but the vert was just too tempting. May be my next car...I really dig the looks of the Cayman and can imagine the handling must be excellent too. They are dealing on '08 CS's now too!

Nice Caymen. The M3 isn't half bad either.

Man, how come you didn't have the thread 3 weeks ago. I bought one for my cousin. Yours is clean though. I like the wheels. Good luck. |

I'll agree that it's a very bad time to sell any high end sportscars... anything at all is very hard to move... you should see the bloodbath in F430 prices... Ferrari just sold too many of those things. I am pretty confident Porsche is seeing the same bloodbath... if you are looking for a used car, man can you call the shots at this time!
For that reason it's a pretty stupid time to be buying an M3 brand new, cause the depreciation off the lot will be 3x what it was in good times... something to factor in when you negotiate the below invoice purchase price.... that being said, I am being stupid and following through my order, though the dealer is going to share the pain with me if the car is to come home with me. |
