EDC and Extended Leather Worth $4200??

I'm deciding between two M3s of which the only difference is that the one with my prefered color is a bit more money due to these extras. Is this worth it? Thanks.

extended leather...debatable. EDC, yes.

edit: about extended leather...the only people that are going to notice you have extended leather are yourself, a fellow bmw enthusiast, or anyone you tell (but if you have to tell them, they probably won't care anyway.)

O.K, thanks but that would then mean the EDC premium on that car would cost me $4200 which seems very costly just to get that car in the right color and take advantage of some rebates. EDC just stiffens up the suspension, correct? I already have a 911 GT3 so right now I'm more interested in the 'GT' aspects of the M3. Thanks again.

if you want to look at it like that, then yes, EDC will cost you $4200. you can also use that in your negotiations i'm sure. you could also look at it like you also get navi, comfort access, and HD radio with your EDC. and yes, EDC is adjustable dampers to make your ride smoother or firmer, which is indispensable on the track, if you ever plan to do that (i highly recommend.)

If Extended leather included a leather wrap of the top half of the dashboard I'd say yes, but otherwise it's not really worth it unless you're into the luxury aspect over the sport aspect.

Ext leather is entirely up to you, for the wife it was a must have since the leather on the dash+CF trim set the car apart from other 3's. If it was just my choice I would have saved the $1100 for some other toys...

EDC from a functional point is much more usefull... Comfort for the guests, stiff for fun...

You will not regret EDC. From a finger's touch, you can turn the car to a handler from a GT cruiser.

This is what extended leather should be: leather wrapped dash and what not:http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60...here-pics.html

EDC sounds good, but the extended leather shouldn't be a deciding factor since there is not much of it.

ask the dealer to throw it in for free. doesn't hurt to ask. the worst that can happen is he'll get mad, kick you out, and ban you for life.

I think EDC is a must have if you intend to track and / or drive in an area where road quality is highly variable (TX anyone? )

I agree w/ the poster above re ext leather: I was thinking of it, then thought, nah, some nice rims + tires, but then wife said she liked it: after sitting in an E93 in BMW Welt w/ bamboo ext leather; and then comp'ing it w/ the rented e90 323i we were driving around Bavaria.
