PS2 and patches

How many times can a PS2 tires be patched and still be reliable? I am seriously considering replacing tires due to patching.

This is an odd question.

How are you getting multiple holes in individual tires? Most people go through four tires without any patching necessary.

More to your point: You haven't provided enough information to make an informed comment. A single patch near the sidewall is enough for me to toss a tire. I can see putting several patches in a single tire with no issues so long as the patches are far enough away from the sidewall.

I have two patches in one tire and one patch in the other. Both rear tires. Two of the patches are basically down the middle of the tread and the other is on the outter section of the tread.

I also see a bubble effect on the outside of one of the tires, is that normal?

I was told when I had the first patch done that I should no longer attempt to attain top speed or track the car.

I just wondered if there was a saftey issue if there were too many patches on a tire.

The buble on the side on the tire (side wall) means that the side wall is broken. I would get an new tire. Usually this happens if you drove the car on a flat or if you hit something hard on the road.

Two patchs per tire, each pach MUST be directly across from each other; As eagletongogreen mentioned already, I would replace the tires if you're doing anything else other then daily/city driving.

Do not repair high performance tires if you are driving at high speeds. The defect, even repaired well, is a spot for potential rupture and blow out.

About 2 months ago, my car indicated low TPMs but just thought it lost some of the pressure due to heavy driving (DUmb ass me). It kept bothering me eventhough the drop it had was like nothing. So again, dumb me and lazy... decided to put some of the tire sealant that was in the trunk after putting some air in it. On the way to AC expressway (Atlantic City Expressway) I had to face with a SL550 who was giving me a dirty look LOL... I blew him off until I reached about 140, something wasn't rite, meaning the steering wheel was raddling as it was seriously about to come off. I was like WTf??? after that, I slowed down and the SL550 guy was pointing at me, I thought he was trying to flip me off. I found out that the tire I patched up was blown up, bubbling everywhere, leaking tire sealant. I had to call the roadside assitants, but shiet.. thank god I had the high performance PS2's, and didn't blow up and took me right up to heaven. If I were you I would definitely replace them. Sorry for such a long story~~

There is no way I will drive a high performance car with patched tyres, sorry but going down the hwy at speed and have a tyre blow on a congested hwy to me is not fun, not for the sake of a few hundred dollars and not for the passengers I am responsible for!
