Do any of you have a sparkling graphite M3?

Do any of you have one? I have the 335i coupe in this color and it makes me sick, no joke, had to lease because I wanted a good deal... PEople in the past have said they only like it more after a purchase and get used to the pink and purple hue? Each day, actually, for me I ve become more hateful of it? What do you guys think? If it was such a popular color, how come its discontinued?

No unfortunately I don't... Do you have a pics?

I thought it may have been one of the colors that was very stealth like UNLESS i was thinking of Space Grey.

Dun worry... if you hate the color you can always re-spray it.

It is a lease and I really like the car and would love to purchase it but because of my dislike for the color I don't think it is worth it. I can't re-spray it either because it's a lease and if I could it would probably cost a lot.

Yeah, that is true. On a car like that you want a safe pick because, to be honest, this is probably going to be the best car I will ever drive.

They call it Sparkling Eggplant. Just don't drive it when it's sunny out. Did you forget to look at cars on the lot or something? I don't get it.

You should have definitely thought about it before leasing the car. Hope that you are able to feel better about it at some point.
discontinued & not chosen != good

It was probably discontinued because it got the least amount of sales.

I had a 335 in eggplant and I loved it. The only reason I didn't get my m in it is because I wanted a change.

That's a great color... especially with the Fox red interior. My Jerez can look purple in the right sunlight.... I think the way they change colors makes them all the better. If you keep your car clean, all the colors look good.

I have a Graphite M3 and this site has really given this color a bad rap until recently. Now that it is gone everyone now loves it. Here is my take:

The car is NOT eggplant. Shine a bright light on it- dark metallic gray, nothing more nothing less. When the blue sky reflects off it, it can look a little purple but so do ALOT of other dark grays, eg Ferrari and Bentley. Under a tree is has a green hue. The coolest shade I have seen is when it was cloudy but for some reason bright it was a bright pearl gray (cool). Its the surroundings not the actual paint color.

IMO, it is by far the BEST M3 color. It perfectly hides the CF roof which otherwise is too much bling for me and the car looks stealthy/ sharky. Interestingly it hides dirt well. Now that it is gone I have a rare M3 which just makes my choice better to me,

I have sparkling graphite and love the color as well. I don't really see the purple hue people talk about at all.

SG was my fave color but they discontinued before I bought my M3. I agree about fox red interior and I think its the only color other than interlagos that makes the 18s look good. I'm liking the graphite they're offering on the new 7.

I love it but then I'm biased...the only time I've seen it look slightly purple was late in the day when the sun was low but bright.

I had a 330i in Sparkling Graphite and I loved it. I saw an E92 in Spark G,it looked good.
IMO BMW should've discontinued Space Gray,it looks dull unless under direct sunlight.

Here's mine when I got her home. Slight greenish tint... pics here

I really like Sparkling Graphite.. I previously owned a 99' Techo Violet M3 so I'm not afraid of purple. Some folks have made a really huge deal out of this purplish hue the car takes at certain angles in bright sunlight but you move 3 steps over and it's gray again.

I think it's cool that the color shifts around a bit. I'm pretty sure the purple hue at certain times isn't going make me gay. "Not that there is anything wrong with that."

Peace,

I love the eggplant but they discontinued it when i placed my order, which I cancelled and boght the //M... you guys know the story. Even worse and not to highjack the thread but I ended up with Silverstone and everybody thinks it's "Baby Blue"! It's winter here and maybe the snow light effects it but dayem it looks baby frickin blue! Talk about feeling gay! If didn't have that hood scoop and a V8 rumble I'd probably put a flower on the dash and add to the appeal.

thanks for being honest. Yeah, sometimes I think this color is supposed to be for a gay man, no disrespect to anyone out there,i know im pretty judgemental when it comes to colors. I like space gray and black sapphire, alpine white is nice too with black trim, and black grilles, plus tinted windows, but Id have to say space gray is the best

Mine is Space Gray and I love it! When I made the order, I actually had picked Silverstone Gray and after seeing it in the shade at a Dealer in Cambridge, I B-lined it for the dealer near where I live and had them change the order to Space Gray imediatly! It was just short one day of the deadline so I almost ended up with Silverstone and I probebly would have drove the M3 off a cliff Sorry, it's just my taste in color.

I especially like the Space Gray with the 18". The interior is all black with leather graphite and I'm happy with that choice too. I think I got the right combo of colors/options IMO.

My boss has a Sparkling Graphite 328xe, it's a nice color but I don't think it looks good on the M3.

Any color would do but Silverstone or Sparkling Graphite IMHO.

Your car is about as relevant as an Interlagos Blue M3. The thread's about Sparkling Graphite.

wow, a lot of bashing the graphite.

when I bought mine a few months ago I did have the choice of white red black graphite etc.
I left in the sparkling graphite. I think with the 18's, its a nice match and combo.

It may not be everyones favorite but theres no reason to rip us that have this color.
I've posted enough pics and not going to ad any to defend SG!
