Transmission Disconnected limp
Hey guys , totally new to the BMW scene and also on this forum
So I decided to treat my self and buy a nice car . Whilst 2 M5 cars slipped under my nose , I stumbled upon a M3 The car is modified tough ...in my opinion pretty heavy It puts out around 700Hp but that's only when the methanol injection (found it today)is active (yes I disconnected it because in my opinion it just to much) Enough of the talk This evening I was driving with one of my ex her kids because they like fast cars All went wel and I never hit further than 50% throttle (because you will fly anyway) However after some nice pulls on the highway 190 ish I was doing around 20% and shifting to 7 (manual) I was in full sport mode It felt like someone dumped the clutch ,the engine revved up fully and before I could even react it stopped my throttle response with an immediate warning on the HUD that there was a drivetrain or gearbox issue(I was in a corner thank god I did not spin out) While coasting out the car was in 7th gear blipping the throttle fast and you could feel it trying to put it back into gear The car showed a new redline around 3.5 4k rpm. . However was totally undrivable I could only hit 1.5k rpm with almost 0 power and laggy driving ..the same bumping blipping When I stopped safely I put it into neutral Checked temps of gearbox (80c)(don't know if these are correct ,I have a additional unit for checking boost and whatnot)(it's a awron DGA) and let the car sit in neutral for a bit. No leaks or damage visible after a minute or so I restarted my car Message gone ..but in my opinion I seems to shift way slower then before Also my boost is not visible anymore (graph shows 0 bar ) I have no clue what the hell happened A gearbox just stop transfer power while still in gear is beyond my understanding Also I can't find any of this issue online Do any of you guys recognise any of this ?, Then please leave a comment I've also bought a scantool maybe there is some more info on WHAT went wrong instead of calling service I can't imagine what would happen if I gave full throttle and the drivetrain disconnect... I think I can say bye bye to my engine then .. Thanks for your time reading Dré-Stylè |

Your CH could have spun slightly and messed up timing. I’d get it checked out just based on you getting only 1.5k rpm out of the car and it sputtering and dying.
