Will the Hatchback ever be available in the US?
I know this doesn't appear to be the right forum for this, but I figured that if I posted this in the hatchback section, it would only be viewed by Euro and other non US country members, but....
Will the Hatchback ever be available in the US? I don't know what it is, mabey it's my European blood, but I love how hatchbacks look. Anyone have any info on this? Thanks, Jake |

Well, a few years ago, I read an article saying that they would NEVER bring the 1 series because there was no market for it. Lo and behold, 4 years later, an article came out saying that the 1 series would come to the US!
So, we'll never know for sure. |

I wanted to modify my post : GTI is the only hatch that does well beside that.....but hey gas prices will probably be a wake up call for a few people at 1.40$ a liter(equivalent of 5.29$ a gallon) I can't wait for these fuel efficient diesel cars to hit the roads. That way we can get rid of useless SUV and get a few cool cars and engines from Europe or Japan. I hope that the 335d are the beggining of a new era. A 335d Touring would be the ultimate sleeper.

As the gas price continues to go up and BMW SAV sales continue to sag, I think BMW could change the plan and bring over the hatch or more 3 series wagons. They already have the car, just wait for the U.S. buyers to warm up to a small, fun, and practical vehicle. It probably won't happen for a while, as Audi A3 sales shows.
