Hit or miss
When you order October onwards, it has the highest certainty that its an 09. A lot of us are getting our 08 in september and according to BMW (at least our US dealers), its the end of sept. looks like the cut off,but these cars were produced 1-2 months prior. Some mentioned that the August holidays (2 weeks) in germany is the change production system. There is a sure way to know about this, write BMW Leipzig a letter, they will explain to you and answer back (in german of course-just kidding!!). I have read a thread that did this but was asking how long a car is produced from start to finish. A lot of folks here are veterans and may know the answer, in that case-you are lucky, you dont need to bug dbtheo or leipzig.

I am on the same boat. Waiting on the 2009's. I gave my initial down payment already and just waiting on the word from my dealer (United).
